Textile factories in Serbia mostly have out-of-date machines in factories and employ an ageing labour force which results in lower productivity. Low wages are a major sectoral issue as well as the absence of motivating circumstances for the development of the textile industry since loans are too expensive entrepreneurs. In order to solve the above-mentioned problems it is necessary to invest in equipment and human capital through training and professional development programs.
DCG was contracted to develop a study and analye the T&C sector in south, east and south-eastern Serbia in terms of product range and production capacity, and to develop an export strategy for the T&C Sector in the cross-border region with Bulgaria.
